Tank rush is a tactic often used in Real-time strategy video games where the focus is to amass a large amount of units to attack your opponent with rather than focussing on strategy, this tactic makes use of the idea that there is vast strength in large numbers.

The first game to enable use of this tactic is Command and Conquer, all previous games had a unit limit or some other such limitation to disallow it.

So called tank rushing is one of the main arguments against the real-time strategy genre, and is most likely a reason for the popularity of real-time tactical games.
