That's Too Much! is a pricing game on the American television game show The Price Is Right
. Debuting on April 19, 2001, this game is played for a car.

Gameplay

A line of increasing prices for a car is displayed, one at a time. Each price is between $1,000 and $3,000 higher than the previous price.

Once the contestant believes he has seen the first price that is "too much" (i.e., higher than the car's actual retail price), he screams "THAT'S TOO MUCH!"

If the contestant indeed stops at the right price, he wins the car. However, if the contestant stops at any price that is below the car's price, or finds a higher price that is not the first higher one, he loses.

Trivia

Before the game starts, host Bob Barker will have the contestants practice shouting "That's too much!" to ensure they use enough enthusiasm in stopping the game. He will ask the contestant to practice several times if he feels he/she does not use enough enthusiasm the first time, and will act with feigned despair whenever the player either forgets to use the proper enthusiasm or says the incorrect command (e.g., "Stop!"). Often, Barker has had to remind the contestant to yell "That's too much!" to stop the game.
