| The Legend of Mir 2 is a sprite based isometric 3-D massively multiplayer online role-playing game, developed by Wemade Entertainment. There are currently four versions of Mir 2; Korean Mir, Chinese Mir, Taiwanese Mir, and European Mir. The Italian company Game Network is responsible for the running of the European version of the game. Game Network also airred a Mir TV show, but it was cancelled due to lack of interest and funding. While being moderately successful in Europe, it has been incredibly well-received in Asia, and was the most popular MMORPG in China in 2002 and 2003, with over 250,000 simultaneous users being reported. Like a lot of other MMORPGs, Mir 2 suffers from tailor-made cheat programs, and numerous bug exploits have been abused by players. Private servers are also a problem, as the server code has been leaked onto the internet on more than one occasion. There is also a sequel, The Legend of Mir 3, which has the same gameplay elements but has updated graphics, as well as being larger. It has not quite reached the popularity levels of its predecessor, and has so far been released in the same countries as Mir 2, as well as in the U.S.. Quite possibly one of the most famous(or infamous) characters in the game is a male character going by the name of Jerrytheberry. His crude (and hated by a vast amount of the community) tactics and style of play (i.e "recall pking") earned him fame, and riches within the game. Allthough many players enjoy the gimmick the character has, and the events he runs and the things he does within the game and forums, the majority of players would like to see this character never return to the game, and show much hate towards the character(and at times the player). Jerrytheberry claims to play the role of a "pker" (player killer). The threads, posts and comments made by-or about jerrytheberry- on the legend of mir forums, escallated this character to "super-stardom" [ Visit the complete Wikipedia entry for The Legend of Mir 2 ] | Searches on eBay |
