Thomas Rendle (born 29 September 1986, Hastings) started playing chess at the age of 5 and his ambition is to become a GM (Grandmaster). Thomas is currently a FM (FIDE Master) and he is well on the way to becoming an IM (International Master), just 1 below the most advanced rank of Grandmaster.

Thomas is currently reading Physics at the University of Warwick.

He is also a part-time chess coach and recently he was a coach for England's team at the 1st in Halkadiki, Greece.

As well as studying at university, Thomas is currently working as a Sports Ambassador for his local council in Hastings, working for an organization called Sports4u. Thomas responsibilities include going into local schools to promote chess and encourage the schools to setup chess clubs.

Under 12 Champion at the Czech Republic European Open.

Represented England in World and/or European Juniors - at under 12, 14, 16 and 18.

Top board (player) for England in World Under 16 Olympiad.

Top Board (player) for Sussex.

FIDE (Federation Internationale des Echecs) Master

2 International Master norms. (3 norms = Title)

Winner of the Category IV 3rd Rosny-sous-bois Masters, IM norm and TPR of 2571!
