Uberhack (or Überhack) is a mod for the real-time strategy computer game Total Annihilation.

Version 4.0

The latest version (4.0) incorporates other third-party modification packages, a custom installer, and a switcher utility to allow for minute gameplay differentiations by the player.

The original Total Annihilation with Total Annihilation: The Core Contingency expansion and the latest patch (3.1) is a prerequisite for installing Uberhack.

Modifications to the game

Uberhack modifies the existing units available in Total Annihilation in an attempt to provide unique purposes to individual units and to provide more variation in unit capabilities. Apart from including the official expansion units and patches released by Cavedog, Uberhack adds a slew of new and modified units. The changes to these units can vary from simply increasing or decreasing armor values to complete and radical role redefinitions.

For example, Uberhack modifies the commonly used Missile Defense Turrets to only be effective against air units, rather than ground and sea units as well. On the positive side to this change, the Missile Defence Turrets can be built at an earlier technology level (buildable by the Commander). These modifications change the tactics of many of the aspects of the game, including base design, defensive structures, and unit management.
