| Video Village and its spinoff Video Village Junior were game shows in the early 1960s. Two contestants played the role of "tokens" on a human-size gameboard with three "streets" consisting of squares similar to Monopoly. The streets were called Money Street, Bridge Street and Magic Mile. Some of the squares contained prizes, others contained typical board game instructions such as "lose a turn". As the players progressed along the streets, the prizes became more valuable. Players advanced according to the role of a large pair of dice, rolled on the sidelines by their significant others. Video Village ran from July, 1960, until June, 1962. It was hosted at different times by Jack Narz and Monty Hall. It began with a nighttime version which lasted 3 months, as well as a daytime version which ran until its cancellation. Hall was the sole host of Video Village Junior during its run of September, 1961, until June, 1962. It was essentially the same game, except with children participating instead of adults. It was a Saturday morning show. Its last episode was June 16, 1962, the day after Video Village concluded its run. Theme: :Oh, Video Village is the place :Where people wear a happy face :There's so many things to see and do :For you, and you, and you! Source
