| 36 Chowringee lane is a movie produced by Shashi Kapoor. Violet Stoneham ( Jennifer Kapoor), a lonely middle aged Anglo-Indian school teacher tries to live with her loneliness in post independent India. Shakespeare, her one great love in an otherwise uneventful existence is what she teaches to a bunch of inattentive giggly schoolgirls. Written and directed by Aparna Sen, the movie picked up three National awards in 1981.
