36 Wooden Men is an early Jackie Chan film made in 1976 during what is called in Chinese Cinema 'the post Bruce Lee era'

During this time Chan and many others imitated Bruce Lee in their films.

In 36 Wooden Men Chan plays a Shaolin student who must train against 36 training dummys (the 36 wooden men of the title) in order to become skilled enough to avenge the death of his father.
