| A Night Out was Edna Purviance's first film after starting work with Charlie Chaplin in 1915. It was also Chaplin's first film with Essanay Film Company in Niles, California. Chaplin made his first Essanay film in Chicago called His New Job, but decided to try the Niles Studios instead. He found Miss Purviance in San Francisco when he was searching for leading lady for his films. A Night Out also stars Ben Turpin, Leo White and Bud Jamison.
