All Dogs Go to Heaven 2 is a 1996 American/British animated film. It is the sequel to MGM's 1989 animated film All Dogs Go to Heaven. It was released on July 3, 1996. The animation of the film itself was considered to be of a lesser quality in comparison to the original film.

Summary

In the sequel to All Dogs go to Heaven, Charlie and Itchy must travel back to earth to retrieve Gabriel's horn. While on earth, Charlie falls for Sasha, an Irish setter.

After falling for Sasha, Charlie decides he wants to become solid again, and seeks magical collars which will keep him and Itchy on Earth. Carface offers the two dogs the collars, but for a price. While following Carface, Charlie and Itchy come across the elderly dog Red, who offers the collars for free. However, these collars only last until sunday the next day.

But while seeking a return to life on Earth, they learn of Red's true plan: To lock up all dogs permanently. It then becomes up to Charlie and Itchy to save all of dog-kind from the evil that lies around the corner.

Follow-Ups

The movie was followed by a surprisingly successful TV series which aired from 1996 to 1999 on ABC Family and a 90-minute Christmas special entitled All Dogs Go to Heaven Christmas Carol which also aired on ABC Family and - according to reliable sources - is run once every year during the station's 25 Days of Christmas annual holiday special.

Goofs and Spoofs

In the scene where Carface shows Charlie and Itchy his special collar that allows him to be flesh and blood, Charlie is briefly shown to be already wearing one.

Carface's name is actually an obvious play on the title of the famous 1983 mafia movie classic Scarface
with Al Pacino
which in turn was took it name from Al "Scarface" Capone

The liquid goes right through him. He turns his head at such an angle so that the liquor looks like it's pouring in one ear and coming out the other. He laps at it with no success.) What!? (He looks in the mirror and sees no reflection.)

Itchy - Oh! Charlie, look! We're...We're ghosts!!!

Charlie - (In angry, growling tone.) Annabelle...! (Shakes a skyward paw) Of all the rotten tricks!!!

Having just touched down in San Fransisco

Charlie - (somewhat disgusted manner) Look at this place, Itch! Trash...exhaust fumes...graffiti...(proclaims in a shout with widespread forlegs and upturned head) we are home!

Itchy - (trying to keep up with Charlie) Hey, Charlie! Weiner dog running here! Oh my legs are short!

In Sasha's overgrown yard

Sasha: Oh, come on! He's only 8 years old!

Charlie: That's 56 in dog years!

In night club

Charlie - You must hear this all the time...but you sing like an angel.

Sasah - Ex-cuse me.

Charlie - The name's Barkin, Charlie Barkin...And you are?
