Along Came a Spider is a 2001 American mystery film. The film stars Morgan Freeman and Monica Potter, and it was directed by Lee Tamahori. The story was adapted by Marc Moss from a James Patterson novel.

Plot

Alex Cross (Morgan Freeman) is a police detective and forensic pathologist who investigates the kidnapping of an United States senator's daughter (Mika Boorem). He is assisted by the Secret Service agent Jezzie Flannigan (Monica Potter) originally assigned to protect the girl. At the film's end, Monica Potter is revealed as the kidnapper. Just as the last one, the movie ends with Cross shooting the bad guy.
