The movie Andaaz is a Bollywood film which was released in May 2003. It starred Akshay Kumar, Miss World Priyanka Chopra, and Miss Universe Lara Dutta. It was produced by Suneel Darshan (Dosti, Barsaat) and directed by Raj Kanwar (Judaai, Har Dil Jo Pyaar Karega). After the slow deterioration of Akshay Kumar's long Bollywood career, Andaaz emerged out of nowhere and shot him right back up to one of the top male stars. This movie also introduced Priyanka Chopra and Lara Dutta who both won a Filmfare Sensational Debut award for their roles as Jiya and Kajal, respectively. Both have become successful actresses, but it is sometimes said that Priyanka has gotten the better roles as of late and is a step ahead of Lara.
