Andrew Bujalski (born April 29th(?), circa 1975 in Boston, Massachusetts). Bujalski is an American film director, screenwriter and actor.

Bio

Andrew Bujalski is the writer-director of Funny Ha Ha (2003) and Mutual Appreciation (2005). He studied film at Harvard's Department of Visual and Environmental Studies before moving to Austin, Texas. In addition to writing and directing his own feautres, he has also had a main role in both of them, Mitchell in Funny Ha Ha and Lawrence Mutual Appreciation.

His work is noted for its lack of formal pretense and its endearingly realistic take on well-educated, yet socially-inept young white people. Bujalski's witty, unassuming films are often compared to the work of John Cassavetes and held up as examples of true independent cinema. A comparison of a movie like Garden State and Mutual Appreciation reveals the malleability of the term "independent cinema."
