Angel Eyes is a 2001 drama/romance film, directed by Luis Mandoki.

Plot

Sharon Pogue (played by Lopez) is a Chicago police officer who keeps a man alive after a traffic accident.

A year later, while chasing the suspect of a drive-by, he pulls a gun on her, and just as the would-be assassin is about to fire, a mysterious man named "Catch" (played by Caviezel) saves her. As they develop a relationship, both have personal problems they have to deal with: Sharon has been estranged from her family and the rest of society for years, and Catch is regarded by most as strange or dangerous. He has a solitary existence, and he delivers groceries to a disabled woman twice a week.

Catch is in fact a fake name of Steven Lambert, the man Sharon saved. However, neither him nor Sharon recognize each other. Steven is still suffering from the accident, in which he thinks he caused his wife and son's deaths as he was driving at the time. At the same time Sharon is also suffering; and she reaches a crisis point after she learns that her parents Josephine (played by Braga) and Carl (played by Argo) are planning a party to celebrate the renewal of their wedding vows, and she isn't invited.

Both need to deal with their past if they are to move on with their lives, even if it means losing each other in the process.

The scenes in and around Sharon`s parents home were filmed at the Playter Farmhouse,a historic building near the Danforth in Toronto,Ontario.

Jennifer Lopez
insisted that the part of Catch be played by James Caviezel
even though she didn`t even know his name.She had recently been impressed with is performance in The Thin Red Line.

Ben Affleck
and Aaron Eckhart
were considered for the role of Catch.

All UK versions were cut to obtain a 15-rating. Warner Brothers had to remove the aggressive use of the word "cunt",or the film would have been rated 18.
