Aria is a 1987 British film, in Italian, French and German, made up of ten short pieces directed by a variety of different directors, based on pieces of classical music.

The directors include Robert Altman, Bruce Beresford, Bill Bryden, Jean-Luc Godard, Derek Jarman, Franc Roddam, Nicolas Roeg, Ken Russell, Charles Sturridge and Julien Temple. The writers were Robert Altman ("Les Boréades"), Bruce Beresford ("Die tote Stadt"), Don Boyd ("I pagliacci"), Bill Bryden ("I pagliacci"), Louis de Cahusac ("Les Boréades"), Derek Jarman ("Depuis le jour"), Philippe Quinault (libretto "Armide"), Franc Roddam ("Liebestod"), Nicolas Roeg ("Un ballo in maschera"), Ken Russell ("Nessun dorma"), Charles Sturridge ("La virgine degli angeli") and Julien Temple ("Rigoletto").

The film was Bridget Fonda's first film role and also starred Valérie Allain and Elizabeth Hurley.

The film was not a commercial success.
