Baby's Day Out is a 1994 comedy film about one day's adventures of a kidnapped baby in the city. The movie was directed by debutant-director Patrick Johnson and written by John Hughes.

Plot

"Bink", a nine-month-old baby of wealthy Chicago parents, is kidnapped for ransom by a trio of dimwitted criminals posing as photographers. However, the baby manages to crawl away from his kidnappers and goes about exploring the city, visiting places he has seen and been told about from his picture book (also entitled Baby's Day Out). His kidnappers follow him to each location but fail to get a hold of him.

The three kidnappers are played by Joe Mantegna ("Eddie" Edward), Joe Pantoliano ("Norby" Norbert), and Brian Haley ("Veeko" Victor). Lara Flynn Boyle co-stars as the baby's mother, with Cynthia Nixon as the baby's nanny and Fred Thompson as an FBI agent. Veteran Hughes actor Eddie Bracken has a cameo as the old war hero who ultimately returns Bink to his parents.

Many elements of Hughes' previous films Home Alone
and Dennis the Menace
, most notably cartoonish Rube Goldberg-esque situations, are prevalent in this feature.

A video game for the Sega Genesis and Sega Mega Drive systems was also created based on the film.
