Being Human is a 1993 indie film starring Robin Williams and Ewan McGregor.

The film portrays the experience of a single human soul (portrayed by Williams) through various incarnations. The film was written and directed by Bill Forsyth for David Puttnam while he was in control of Columbia Studios in 1989. When Putnam was ousted Being Human was pulled from the distribution schedule and was given a limited release in 1993.

The film includes narrative, written perhaps on a directorial presumption that the audience would fail to understand the 'drifting through time' motif without. And though thoughful in its premise, the film is notable for having been ruined by the overused, improperly cast (Theresa Russell), and improperly toned narrative. The film has many of the qualities of a good project ruined by Hollywood producers, as it attempts to evoke the clashing sensibilities of both a whimsical Monty Python film and the lukewarm and loosely historical passion of a female-targeted romance novel.
