Black Christmas is a 2006 remake of the 1974 film of the same name. It is being directed by Glen Morgan. The film has attracted a young cast; Michelle Trachtenberg, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Katie Cassidy, Lacey Chabert, and Oliver Hudson are all reportedly attached to the project. Crystal Lowe, Kristen Cloke, and Jessica Harmon have also signed on. There is no official release date yet, but it expected to be finished in time for a Christmas release.

The film is being shot in Vancouver.

The original film was about a killer stalking a sorority over the Christmas break. Andrea Martin, who was in the original movie, has a part in this remake. Director Glen Morgan wanted either Margot Kidder or Andrea Martin (who were both in the 1974 version of Black Christmas) to play the house mother in this movie, to pay respect to the 1974 version.
