Movies - Black Sheep

Black Sheep is a 1996 comedy film, directed by Penelope Spheeris, and is the last to feature the comedy duo Chris Farley
and David Spade
. The film portrays a political contest in which the candidate deals with unwanted and incompetent help from his brother. Co-starring are Tim Matheson
, Christine Ebersole
, and Gary Busey
.

Chris Owen and Fred Wolf have cameo appearances, and Farley's real-life brothers Kevin and John appear as bouncers.

The film has been compared unfavorably to a previous film of the comedy duo, Tommy Boy
.

The fact that the name of this film is the same as that of the rap group Black Sheep confuses many fans of the comedy duo.

Late film critic Gene Siskel claimed that this was the first (and only) movie he ever walked out on while reviewing.

The memorable phrase "I'm gonna go take a squeege" was coined in this film.

The film marked the last-ever onscreen pairing of Farley and Spade.

Summary

Chris Farley stars as Mike Donnelly, the doltish younger brother of a gubernatorial candidate (Tim Matheson). Mike can't seem to stay out of trouble, thus potentially endangering his brother's chance at winning the election, so campaign aide Steve Dodds (David Spade) is assigned to chaperone him until the election is over. Not realizing that he is biting off more than he can chew, Steve takes Mike to the wilderness of Washington state, where the two men are ill-equipped to deal with the difficulties that nature throws their way. Penelope Spheeris (Wayne's World
) directs this slapstick comedy, which reunites the successful team from 1995's Tommy Boy
.
