Boomer is a fictional character in the sci-fi series Battlestar Galactica
. Two versions of the characters exist, one from the original version, and one from the new version that premiered in 2003.

Original Continuity

The original Boomer was a male portrayed by African-American Herb Jefferson, Jr. Boomer was a lieutenant officer with a background in engineering, he was eventually promoted to Colonel in Galactica 1980

New Continuity

The new Boomer is a female portrayed by Korean-Canadian Grace Park. In this version, the character's real name is Sharon Valerii, and 'Boomer' is just a pilot call sign.
