Movies - Botanica

Botanica is a character from the second season of the Beast Machines animated cartoon series. A female Maximal with a plant alternate form, after her reformation into a techno-organic body Botanica possesses powers over plantlife and a unique attachment to Cybertron's organic core; her new body drew life from the core, and if she were to be cut off from the core (by means of a force field or other device), she would perish. Botanica is a scientist- a botanist specifically- and a pacifist, who abhors fighting.

Like Optimus Primal and his crew, Botanica was on a research mission. Her ship landed on a planet populated by sentient plants, and thus the Transformers scanned plant modes. When Botanica returned to Cybertron, her ship was shot down and she was infected with Megatron's virus, with the rest of the crew's fates unknown. After a few skirmishes and her reformatting by Optimus Primal, Botanica joined the Maximals.

Botanica's knowledge of plant life was instrumental in maintaining the techno-organic trees Optimus' crew had been caring for. However, her unwillingness to fight led to disputes with fellow Maximals. Botanica was eventually forced into action, and helped her comrades escape Obsidian and Strika
. As time wore on, Botanica developed a love interest in Rattrap, which was mutual. Botanica was drained of her Spark by Megatron, but later revived when he and Optimus reformatted Cybertron.

Botanica is played by Kathleen Barr
.
