Spinoffs

  • Chaos Bleeds inspired a comic prequel published by Dark Horse. It's story coninuity was set just before the game and therefore established the idea that the walls between reality were 'bleeding' into each other. The comic was also availble on the game itself as a special feature.
  • The game also had a novilzation published by Pocket Books. The author, James A. Moore, used the storyline originally developed by Christopher Golden for the game.

Canonical issues

These games and spinoffs are generally not considered as part of the Buffyverse canon, although the games have been licensed as official Buffy the Vampire Slayer
merchandise. Furthermore, the stories of the games have been slotted into the continuity of the Buffyverse. Many of the actors who portray characters on Buffy the Vampire Slayer
took part in the voice-overs for the games.
