Casper: A Spirited Beginning is a direct-to-video spin-off of the 1995 film Casper
, released by Universal Studios Home Video in 1997. It is a prequel to Casper and shows how Casper became a ghost.

Inconsistances

Casper: A Sprited Beginning has a number of plot holes and inconsistances with the prior film Casper.

In Casper, Casper died some time either in the late 19th century or early 20th century. In Casper: A Spirited Beginning, Casper becomes a ghost in modern times.
In Casper, the house Casper haunted was his father's house. In A Spirited Beginning, he joins the Ghostly Trio, who are already haunting a house.
In A Spirited Beginning, ghosts have to go through training before becoming ghosts. In Casper, two characters die and become ghosts immediately.
In Casper, Casper appears lonely, despite the fact he forges a friendship with a young boy in the films prequel.
