| Cast a Giant Shadow is a 1966 film, produced and directed by Melville Shavelson and distributed by MGM. Is is a story based on the life of Micky Marcus Cast a Giant Shadow is based on Ted Berkman's biography of Colonel Mickey Marcus Marcus (played by Kirk Douglas) served as an adviser in the war to establish the state of Israel in 1948. Marcus falls on love with a soldier in Palestine. Filmed in the Middle Eastern locations in which they occurred, Cast a Giant Shadow is not entirely accurate. It does, however, feature lengthy cameos by Yul Brynner, John Wayne, and Frank Sinatra.
