Choujin Sentai Jettoman (鳥人戦隊ジェットマン in English, Birdmen Squadron Jetman) was the 15th entry of Sentai Series. It was produced by Toei Company and Bandai. It was aired on TV Asahi on February 15, 1991 to February 14, 1992, with a total of 51 episodes.

Plot

The invasion of Vyram begins into Earth by destroying Skyforce's base Earth Ship; Ryu Tendo's lover, Rie Aoi, is sucked out in the chaos while Ryu escapes with Commander Aya Odagiri, in the explosion, four civilians are struck by Birdonic Wave bolts which were intended to turn Ryu and four Skyforce officers into Jetmen as part of the J project, Ryu and Odagiri locate the four strangers to become Jetmen, Ryu must fight his beloved Rie, who has now Maria of Vyram, the Dimensians give Jetmen the Jet Garuda before being killed, a parasitic starfish born from Radiguet's blood turns Maria into a vampiric creature; she turns on Radiguet but is slain. as Ryu duels Radiguet for revenge, the others rush to help; Grey blocks their path but is killed by Gai, Radiguet enlarges to monster Raguem and merges with mothership Vylock, Raguem wrecks Tetra Boy but is finally killed when stabbed in his one vulnerable spot by Jet Icarus. Finally ,Ryu and Kaori get married. On the way to the wedding ,Gai is fatally stabbed by thugs and drags himself ,dying and to his friends wedding. Upon arriving ,he dies surrounded by all of his friends.

Jetmen

Ryuu Tendou (天堂竜 Tendo Ryū) / Red Hawk (レッドホーク) : 26 years old, originally a Skyforcer codenamed "W6". Became a Jetman by being showered with Birdonic Waves. As a member of the J Project, he is the leader, with a stronger sense of justice than anyone's. His beloved Rie Aoi becomes Vyram officer Maria, which comes into conflict when he discovers it. His grandmother, Kinuyo Tendo, wants to marry for his family's business. He married Kaori after three years after the fall of Vyram. He loves hot milk without sugar.
*Attack: Wing Punch.

Kaori Rokumeikan (鹿鳴館香Rokumeikan Kaori) / White Swan (ホワイトスワン) : 22 years old, a rich girl. Joined Jetman to escape boredom. She is taken care of by her butler, Jiiya, since her parents live in New York. She is good at Kendo. She is charming to the point of having Gai and Raita being attracted, the first one with serious intentions. After a long and difficult romance with Gai, she ends up with Ryu, and both get married in the finale. Is best shot of Jetmen and initially dislikes Mecha.
*Attacks: Swan Wing, Swannie Attack, Double Kick (with Yellow Owl).

Ako Hayasaka (早坂アコ Hayasaka Ako) / Blue Swallow (ブルースワロー) : 18 years old, senior at Miharakita High School. Bright and cheery, wants to married a rich man. First thought of Jetman as a part time job paying 1500 yen an hour, but her first battle awakened her sense of justice and made her realize that she must fight as a warrior. Best friends with her classmate, Kyouko. Debuts as an idol singer three years after the fall of Vyram.

Raita Ooishi (大石雷太 Ōishi Raita) / Yellow Owl (イエローオウル) : 22 years old, a nature lover who enjoys vegetables and hates Vyram for destruction of nature. Good at cooking. Looks after Kaori. Three years after Vyram is defeated, runs a farm with his childhood friend, Satsuki. Was raised by his grandmother, Kiyo Oishi, because Raita's parents were busy. As Yellow Owl, specializes in head butt, body blows, throwing techniques, and sumo-based attacks; is also able to hurl boulders.
*Attacks: Rock Drop, Sure Kill Thrust, Condor/Owl Towering Attack.

Gai Yuuki (結城凱 Yūki Gai) / Black Condor (ブラックコンドル) : 25 years old and a loner. Hates being ordered around. Loves fighting but is really a nice guy. Initially clashed with Ryu but eventually became friends. Interests include motorcycle, saxophone, gambling and womanizing. Loves Kaori, and often tries to flirt with her, without results, which results on him suffering from the frustration of his unanswered feelings. When she finally accepts him, they have frequently problems on their relationship as both are too different. Murdered by thug three years after the fall of Vyram. He loves the Macallan, scotch whisky.
*Attacks: Condor Finish, Flying Kick, Condor/Owl Towering Attack.

Jeff Kensaki / Green Eagle: A musician who replaces Gai in the manga epilogue. Since Ako is then an idol singer, Jeff is an eager fan of her. He takes a major role in the final battle.

Allies

Commander Aya Odagiri (小田切綾長官 Odagiri Aya-shirei): First woman commander of Sentai, Good at martial arts, inventor of Mecha. Her subordinates call her "Chokan".
