| Chris Weitz (born 1970 in New York, New York) is the director (along with brother Paul Weitz) of American Pie, About a Boy, and other movies. The Weitz brothers are the sons of actress Susan Kohner. It was announced that he would direct the film based on the book trilogy His Dark Materials by Philip Pullman, but he has since quit stating that the technical challenge was too great.
