Colossus and the Headhunters is a sword and sandal film created in Italy and released in 1960 during the wide popularity of sword and sandal films of the early 1960s

Ancient Greeks escape an island which is sinking from a catastrophic volcanic eruption, a group under a hundred manage to use a large raft to swim away. The hero, Colossus, steers the raft toward an unknown land and the group gets captured by a tribe led by Queen Amoa. Her people are under continuous attack by another tribe of savage headhunters who war with her populus. Colossus and his survivors decide to help her people. Colossus and some of his friends go to a ruined castle which previously used to be a great city of gold to find Amoa's father who is now blind and resides alone in one of the dungeon rooms. Meanwhile, the leader of the headhunters captures Amoa and decides to marry her using the blessing of her old father. A large battle erupts at the village between the headhunter tribe and between the survivors and Queen Amoa's populus.
