Cry Danger is a 1951 film noir thriller shot in 22 days in Los Angeles, including the Bunker Hill section of the city.

Plot

Powell plays bookie Rocky Mulloy who was sent to prison for five years for a robbery that he didn't commit. He's out now due to an alibi provided by Richard Erdman who says Rocky had been drinking with him the night the robbery had taken place.

With five years of his life taken from him, Rocky's out to find who framed him. He nearly gets framed again when he's given some of the hot money from the robbery to make a bet.

Critical reaction

Most reviews for the film are positive. Time Out's film review says of Cry Danger: "...it's the kind of movie in which, told to expect someone extra for dinner, delicious Fleming smiles 'OK, I'll put more water in the soup'. With excellent support players like a young, thin (for him) William Conrad and Jay Adler, this is a fast, crisp and laconic delight."
