. The R-rated comedy was controversial upon release due to Mr. T's appeal among children, which resulted in the film being mis-marketed in many regions.

Plot summary

Albert Hockenberry has just arrived in Washington, D.C. and is on his way to work for his Uncle Harold, owner of the taxicab company D.C. Cab. Harold wants to improve the company which is full of cab drivers who are wacky and mischievous. The drivers, not knowing that they are worth something, never work together as a team until Albert makes them see the error of their ways.

A $10,000 reward is posted for the return of a missing violin. One of the cabbies finds the violin in his cab, but Harold has an idea to put the money into the company. However, his wife Myrna takes the money. The cabbies are not happy about this, and Albert decides to donate his own money for the cab company instead.

Albert and a diplomat's two children are kidnapped, and the gang of D.C. Cab must rescue them.
