Death Warrant is a 1990 movie starring Jean-Claude Van Damme as Louis Burke, a Royal Canadian Mounted Policeman who goes undercover into the Harrison State Prison in California as a convict in order to investigate the deaths of nine prisoners. Burke lost his partner while tracking down a man known as "The Sandman" (played by Patrick Kilpatrick), and wants to avenge his partner's death. While in jail, Louis uses his martial arts skills to stay alive and gain the respect of the convicts. Eventually, the Sandman is transferred there and the truth about Burke being an undercover cop is revealed, quickly turning the prison against him. He gets some help from a few friends he makes while inside the jail. This leads him to finding and eventually killing the Sandman.
