Movies - Earth

Earth is a planet in Transformers: Cybertron, based on its real-life counterpart.

Generation 1

In the first Transformers series, Generation 1, the Transformers fell to Earth many centuries ago on their starship, the Ark. While this was its most prominent role in the plot, the planet did reveal a number of secrets:

  • Skyfire (also known as Jetfire) was entombed in ice on this planet, after visiting it sometime before with his then friend Starscream.
  • Ancient cities such as Atlantis, and a golden lagoon of a substance called Electrum.
  • In Transformers Masterforce, it was revealed that Autobot and Decepticon Pretenders had also visited the planet.
In the Transformers comic by Dreamwave, Earth was once again used as the resting place for Jetfire, as well as Omega Supreme. There was also intended to be some unknown secret on the planet, but this was not revealed before the series was cancelled and Dreamwave closed its doors.

Beast Wars

Earth would play host to the Beast Wars, in which Optimus Primal and the 2nd Megatron's forces waged their conflict. Though it was originally believed to be an alien world, it was in fact, prehistoric Earth, whose geographical nature had been altered by aliens known as the Vok. In addition, the Vok planted raw Energon all over the planet, and created an artificial moon in orbit around the planet, as part of some vague experiment. It was eventually revealed that Megatron came to Earth in this time period so that he might find the Ark and destroy Optimus Prime, thus leading the Decepticons to win the Great War.
Beast Wars the 2nd
In the Japanese spin-off series, the Cybertrons led by Lio Convoy and the Destrons led by Galvatron fought on a planet called Gaia, which curiously had Earth-based animal life. Though it was known to have two sentient inhabitants, a girl named Artemis and her companion Moon, it was revealed years (in the profile for Lio Convoy's reappearance in Robot Masters later that Gaia was, in fact, a future version of Planet Earth, devastated by mankind's tampering with a power source known as Angolmois energy
.

Transformers Cybertron

When the Transformers decided to abandon their homeworld and hide among the populace on Earth, they had no idea of the true extent that Earth had played in the Transformers' history. Not only was it one of the four worlds that the Cyber Planet Keys had been sent to, it also had an ancient population of Transformers. Lost on Earth was the starship Atlantis, which carried the Omega Lock and inspired legends of a floating city among Earth's populace. Among the Transformers on the planet were Evac, who had possession of the Cyber Planet Key, and Crosswise, a "monster hunter." Unfortunately, this planet was no stranger to the distinction of Autobots and Decepticons. The Decepticons also influenced Earth culture by inspiring legends of monsters and mythological beings, until they were sealed away. Unfortunately, this was all undone centuries later when Starscream freed these Ancient Decepticons to serve as his personal army. Fortunately, most of them were defeated, with only Lugnutz and Thunderblast remaining amongst their numbers.

It is possible that the ships that carried the Cyber Planet Keys to the other worlds temporarily visited Earth at one point, inspiring legends of other lost continents like Atlantis.
