Ebirah (エビラ ) or Ebira, is a gigantic, monstrous lobster that debuted in Godzilla vs. the Sea Monster
(also known as Ebirah, Horror of the Deep or Godzilla, Mothra, Ebirah: Big Duel in the South Sea). In the movie, Ebirah is used as a watchdog by a terrorist organization called the Red Bamboo to make sure that nobody leaves or lands on Letchi Island, where their base is located. Ebirah did his job well, smashing ships and devouring anyone who made it out of the wrecks. Severely outclassed by Godzilla, Ebirah tried his best but eventually had both his claws ripped off by the reptile. Stock footage of the same fight (with minor edits and changes) was used in Godzilla: All Monsters Attack. Narrative wise, this fight was meant to be a new one, though the outcome was the same as the first.

Ebirah returned in Godzilla: Final Wars where he attacked a power plant. A team of Mutant soldiers managed to fend him off and nearly kill him. Ebirah was taken by the Xilians where they injected M-Base into his body along with all the other monsters they captured. This enabled them to control all the monsters and use them in their attack on civilization. Ebirah was used as a last resort attempt to kill Godzilla but he failed and died when Godzilla threw him onto Hedorah and blasted them both with his Atomic Ray.

Ebirah appears in the Challenge Mode for Godzilla: Save the Earth a Video Game for Xbox and Playstation 2.

--In Japanese, "ebi" means "shrimp."
