Elmer's Pet Rabbit is a Merrie Melodies cartoon starring the famous duo Bugs Bunny and Elmer Fudd was released on January 4, 1941. It was directed by the legendary Chuck Jones, written by Rich Hogan, animated by Rudy Larriva, and the music was directed by Carl Stalling. It was produced by Leon Schlesinger and the film editor was SFX wizard Treg Brown.

In this cartoon, Elmer buys Bugs Bunny in a pet shop and Bugs Bunny is at his best.

The music in the cartoon include, "Strolling Through the Park" arr. Carl Stalling, written by Ed Haley performed by Elmer and Bugs.

Trivia

This was the first Bugs Bunny in which Bugs Bunny is actually named.
Bugs Bunny wears yellow gloves, he has a different voice (which is still Mel Blanc
's), and he has no buck teeth!
This was the seventh cartoon for Bugs and the 23rd cartoon that Chuck Jones directed.
This is the second cartoon Bugs quoted the famous Groucho line, "Of course you know this means war!". He first quoted it in his debut in Porky's Hare Hunt
, first released on April 30, 1938.
