| Elstree Calling is a 1930 film directed by Alfred Hitchcock, a homage to vaudeville set as an early TV special. One of his first sound productions, parts of the film also contain his first use of color for which Hitchcock never received recognition as a master. The film consists of 19 comedy and music vignettes linked by running gags of a wannabe Shakespearean actor and technical problems with a viewer's TV set. The film is very rare and generally considered important only for completing one's Hitchcock catalogue.
