Empty City is an upcoming dramatic film to be written and directed by Mike Binder, who previously wrote and directed The Upside of Anger
. The story tells the story of a man (played by Adam Sandler) who lost his family in the September 11 attacks whose rekindling of an old friendship with a former college roommate (Don Cheadle) helps him deal with his grief.

The film began shooting in New York City, New York in March 2006. The budget is just under $20 million dollars. It will be released in late 2006.

The film was originally known as Reign O'er Me but changed to the curent title in early March 2006.
