Fantastic Four 2 is the sequel to the highly successful box office hit Fantastic Four
which was released in 2005. The movie is set to be released on July 4, 2007. This movie will be directed by Tim Story, and confirmed cast members to return include Jessica Alba, Michael Chiklis, Chris Evans, Ioan Gruffud, and also Julian McMahon. Top runners for the villains include the return of Dr. Doom, and The Puppet Master.

Tim Story has stated that the filming will begin on August 1st, 2006 in Vancouver.

Possible villains, characters and storylines

Puppet Master

The villain most likely in the movie is to be the Pupper Master. Arad has show interest in him and thinks that he is a great character. He was going to be hinted to be the villain of this movie in a deleted scene of Fantastic Four found only on the European DVD released. The Puppet Master uses radioactive clay to make puppets of people that he can then control and is the step father to Ben's girlfriend Alicia Masters. With him as the villain this the role of Alicia Masters will be expanded Arad has confirmed.

Doom

Tim Story has confirmed that Doctor Doom will be back in this movie and he will also be as he describes it as "full Doom". Whether he will be played again by Julian McMahon is unknown because he does not have a contract like other cast members.

Galactus and Silver Surfer

Tim Story says he would love to have these characters in a movie, but Arad has not approved. Arad first wants a Silver Surfer movie where both Galactus and Silver Surfer are introduced.

"First we want to do the origin of the Silver Surfer and the Galactus story. But because it's the same studio, one day you'll probably have our version of Alien Vs. Predator - only a much, much better version." (Avi Arad)

Though recent rumors have said that neither of the two cosmics will appear in this sequel, Tim Story hopes to have them in the third.

Mole Man

Chris Evans in an interview stated that he has heard that the Mole Man (the Fantastic Four's first villain) is in running to be "one" of the villains in the next movie.

Other Story Developments

The Alicia Masters character will play an expanded role.

Tim Story wants to use the Fantasticar in this movie.

Reed and Sue will get married.
