Flesh & Blood (1985) is a film directed by Paul Verhoeven. The film is set in 1501 in Europe. A group of mercenaries is followed as they battle, loot, rape and party.

The script is partly based on unused material for the Dutch tv series Floris, which was the debut for both Paul Verhoeven and Rutger Hauer.

Plot

The film starts with the capture of a city. The mercenaries are thrown out by the new ruler before they can complete their looting. They encounter and kidnap his son's to be bride Agnes. Then the son shows up, and follows the band of mercenaries to the castle they have found refuge in (not in a peaceful way). It seems Agnes has developed an infatuation on the mercenary leader, Martin, and before her husband-to-be can reclaim her (by laying siege to the castle),she must decide whom she is in love with.
