| For the Birds is an animated short film, created by Pixar Animation Studios in the year 2000. It won the Academy Award for best animated short in the 74th Academy Awards. The film revolves around a flock of small but highly idiosyncratic birds sitting on a telephone line. Their normal clatter (voiced by squeaky chew toys) is interrupted by the arrival of a much larger bird (characterized in pre-production meetings by an air horn). Whether misinterpreting their derision or simply ignoring it, the large bird joins them on the telephone line, and the small ones attempt to peck him off—but the large bird gets the last laugh when their attempts end in their own embarrassment.
