Movies - Fort Worth Flyover

Fort Worth Flyover is the name of a short IMAX film created for the Omni Theater at the Fort Worth Museum of Science and History and traditionally shown before every IMAX feature there. The original was made sometime in the early 1980s; an updated version, Fort Worth Flyover II, directed by Ben Shedd, was produced in 1992.

The movie is designed to make audience members feel as though they are flying over the city of Fort Worth, Texas, and serves as an introduction to the IMAX experience for new viewers. Both versions are shot by helicopter and feature aerial views of the city, primarily the downtown area; they end with a shot hovering over the Museum, where viewers are greeted by a crowd of people waving from the roof near the Omni Theater's dome.
