G.I. Jane is a 1997 action movie that tells the fictitious story of the first woman to become a Special Forces Operator. Many believe the film shows Moore's character going through Navy SEAL training, but this is inaccurate. Several of her "classmates" are already SEALs. The training Moore undergoes is for a place on the non-existent "Combined Reconnaissance Teams," which apparently draw candidates from the entire military.

Plot

When a crusading chairperson of the military budget committee pressures the would be Navy secretary to begin full gender integration of the service, he offers the chance for a test case for a female trainee in a fictional Special Forces commando group. Lt. Jordan O'Neil is given the assignment, but no one expects her to succeed in an inhumanly punishing regime that has a standard 60% dropout rate for men. However, O'Neil is determined to prove everyone wrong.

The Poem: The Master Chief's poem is by D.H. Lawrence, entitled "Self-Pity."

The Music: When the Master chief force them to stay awake, the Opera background music is "O mio Babbino Caro"
