Plot

The story is set in the 1930's. Gilda Bessé (Theron), an infamous socialite, shares her Paris apartment with a young Cambridge undergraduate named Guy Malyon (Townsend) and Mia (Cruz), a refugee from Spain. As the world drifts toward war, Gilda defiantly pursues her hedonistic lifestyle and her burgeoning career as a photographer. However, both Guy and Mia head to Spain to join the fight against fascism, leaving a deceived Gilda back in Paris. After Mia dies, Guy goes back to Paris, only to discover Gilda is the mistress of a Nazi officer. However, she will save his life to prove her true love to him.
