| Heavyweights is a 1995 comedy film about a fat camp that gets taken over by a fitness guru named Tony Perkis, played by Ben Stiller (who would later play a similar role in 2004's Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story). It has become somewhat of a cult classic since its release. Cody Burger also appears as "Cody", and has several lines. This film was filmed entirely in North Carolina. The main character Jerry is reluctantly forced to go to 'Fat Camp', Camp Hope. However, he quickly decides it won't be so bad: there's go-carts, a sexy camp nurse, cool counselors in charge of his bunk, and best of all, the cabins all have hiding places (under mattresses, in bedposts, under the floorboards) to hide snack food the campers snuck into camp. Then, the camp is bought out by fitness fanatic Tony Perkis (Ben Stiller). Tony wastes no time in replacing most of the counselors, searching and cleansing the cabins of their secret stashes, dismantling the go-carts, and kicking the camp legend Josh out. Tony gleefully announces that he plans to make the camp the #1 fitness video in the country, meaning that it's non-stop exercise and dieting. Tony also promises that the camp will finally beat Camp MVP (the rival camp across the lake) in the Apache Relay: a race that Camp MVP has always won. The eventual return of Josh prompts the campers to find out just what Tony did with all the junk food he confiscated. A search of his cabin reveals a poster featuring the campers' faces superimposed on skinny bodies, and all the letters to home they've sent locked away in a box under Tony's bed. But no food other than coffee beans. Then a lone camper discovers a hiding spot in the woods, and Jerry and Josh's cabin wastes to no time gorging themselves. The next day at the weigh-in, Tony is outraged to discover that the bunkmates have all gained weight. Tony then declares that anyone who has not met their weight-loss goal -which, due to the previous night, is everyone is Jerry's cabin- will join him on a 20 mile hike. But the campers strike back and imprison Tony and his counselors. After a lone night of excessive eating, the few councillors who supported Tony's downfall restore order to the camp, and, for Parents Day, showcase a video depicting the rigorous program Tony forced on them- a program that, according to the camp nurse, is ineffective and dangerous. Tony escapes, and Jerry rallies the parents, convincing them Tony must be stopped. While Tony assaults Jerry's father and injures him, a mistimed back flip knocks him out. Tony Perkus Senior arrives, and takes his son away, turning control of the camp over to Pat, the counselor in charge of Jerry's bunk. Under Pat's command, the camp puts things back the way they were meant to be, and in the grand finale go-cart race, wins the Apache Relay for the first time. When Camp MVP protests, Pat shrugs and tosses the championship trophy into the lake.
