| Heimatfilm is a film genre which was popular in Germany in the 1950s. Heimatfilms were noted for their rural settings, sentimental tone and simplistic morality. Heimat is a German word meaning homeland. English-language features that could qualify as Heimatfilme include Lassie Come Home, Spencer's Mountain, and Where the Red Fern Grows. The trilogy of films called "Heimat" by the German director Edgar Reitz (1984, 1992 & 2004) are partly an ironic reference to this type of sentimental film. da:Heimatfilm de:Heimatfilm [ Visit the complete Wikipedia entry for Heimatfilm ] Some related entries: Electra Glide in Blue | The Place Promised in Our Early Days | Double Trouble | Good Morning and...
