| Henry Fool is a 1997 film directed, written, and produced by Hal Hartley. The film takes place in the New York City borough of Queens, and revolves around garbageman Simon Grim (James Urbaniak), whose life, along those of with his mother (Maria Porter) and sister (Parker Posey), is affected by the arrival of supposed writer & philosopher Henry Fool (Thomas Jay Ryan). Henry influences Simon into writing a lengthy poem, which eventually makes him a famous and controversial literary figure. Thematically, the film deals primarily with the influence of art and literaure. A sequel, titled Fay Grim, is reportedly in production by Hartley.
