| Henry Selick (1952 - ), is an American stop motion animation director who directed both The Nightmare Before Christmas, and James and the Giant Peach. There was a lot of friction between Tim Burton and Selick regarding The Nightmare Before Christmas; Selick felt that he was not adequately consulted during the film's creation. Selick also directed the film Monkeybone and developed the stop-motion animation for The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou. He is currently working for Laika Entertainment House where he is preparing an animated version of Neil Gaiman's Coraline.
