| Hippocrates Smethwyck is a fictional character in the Harry Potter books. His only appearance in the first six books is in Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix as the Healer-in-Charge of the "Dai Llewellyn Ward: Serious bites" at St Mungo's Hospital for Magical Maladies and Injuries. His name comes from Hippocrates, who is considered the father of medicine, and from "Smethwick", a city in Staffordshire in central England, near Birmingham.
