The "House of D" is the Greenwich Village New York Women's House of Detention, which frequently housed prostitutes. Eventually, he returns home to reconcile with his family and friends. The film also stars Erykah Badu, Frank Langella, Tea Leoni, Robin Williams, Zelda Williams, and Anton Yelchin. It was screened at the 2005 Tribeca Film Festival.
