| Identity Crisis is a comedy film directed and edited by Melvin Van Peebles, and written by Mario Van Peebles. In it, Mario plays a rapper whose body is inhabited by the soul of a dead fashion designer. In a unique play on the "body switching" films of the 1980s, every time the rapper is hit on the head, he switches between his "butch" (the rapper) and "femme" (the dead fashion designer) personalities.
