It Started in Naples is an American romantic-comedy film released in August 1960.

The film stars Clark Gable as American lawyer Michael Hamilton who travels to Naples, Italy to handle affairs relating to his late brother's estate. Once there he discovers that his brother had a son, who is being cared for by Lucia, a sexy nanny played by Sophia Loren. Despite the age difference, romance soon blossoms between Michael and Lucia.

This was the last film to be released within Gable's lifetime (his final film, The Misfits, was released posthumously). One of the highlights of the film is a tongue-in-cheek musical number by Loren called "You Want to be Americano".

Also starring in the film was Vittorio De Sica.

Filmed on location, It Started in Naples was nominated for an Academy Award for its art direction. It was released to DVD in North America in 2005.
