Science Squadron Dynaman (科学戦隊ダイナマン - Kagaku Sentai Dainaman) was the 7th Sentai series (and 5th Super Sentai). Produced by Toei Company Ltd., the series aired from February 5, 1983, to January 28, 1984, with a total of 51 episodes.

6 episodes were later seen on the USA Network's Night Flight and alternately, Nickelodeon's Special Delivery in 1987-88 as a dubbed parody, simply titled Dynaman. This was the first time the Super Sentai Series was ever shown in the US in dubbed form, the only other one being the dubbed Bakuryuu Sentai Abaranger episode that was directly translated in Power Rangers Dino Thunder.

Toru Ohira who Narrates 9 years Since Himitsu Sentai Goranger Ended in the end of Dynaman, And Starts narrate Metal heroes from 1984 - 1989 (Except for Choujinki Metalder, 1987) But he would return to narrate Kyoryuu Sentai ZyuRanger in 1992, And also voice-over Emperor Bacchus-Rage in Chouriki Sentai Ohranger in 1995.

The Jashinka empire (Combination of the Japanese words for 'evil,' and 'evolution.') rises from the depths of the Earth to conquer the world. To stop them, Dr. Yumeno assembles five inventors to his Yumeno Invention Laboratory, and gives them the power to become Dynamen. Each has their own goal, but as the Science Squadron Dynaman, they're united to stop the Jashinka empire in their tracks.

Characters

Hokuto Dan (弾北斗 Dan Hokuto) / Dynared (ダイナレッド)
A kendo master from of Hokkaido. In his spare time, he races motorcycles, and tries to come up with a non-polluting engine. His weapons are the double Dynaswords. His Dynarod attack is the Red Fire. His name is Wooshi in the parody.

Ryu Hoshikawa (星川竜 Hoshikawa Ryū) / Dynablack (ダイナブラック)
An astronomer descendent from Iga ninjas. He tries to contact aliens. His weapons are the Cross Cutter boomerangs, and the Strong Shower webbing. He also has the Battletector Armor. His Dynarod attack is the Black Star Flash. His name is Huba in the parody.

Yosuke Shima (島洋介 Shima Yōsuke) / Dynablue (ダイナブルー)
From Ishigaki Island. A water sports master who wants to create artificial gills. His exclusive vehicles are the Surf Jet, and the Attack Board. His weapons are the Blue Frisbees. His Dynarod attack is the Blue Water Whirlpool. His name is Franky in the parody.

Kosaku Nango (南郷耕作 Nangō Kōsaku) / Dynayellow (ダイナイエロー)
From Kyushu. His idea involves engineering better plant breeds. His weapons are the Chain Crushers. His Dynarod attack is the Yellow Thunderlight Fall. His name is Cowboy in the parody.

Rei Tachibana (立花レイ Tachibana Rei) / Dynapink (ダイナピンク)
Wishes to talk to animals. Her weapons are the Rose Saber, Flower Shield, and rose bombs. Her Dynarod attack is the Pink Shocking Melody. Her name is Slojin in the parody.

Dr. Kyutaro Yumeno (夢野久太郎 Yumeno Kyūtarō)
Mentor of the Dynamen. He heads the Yumeno Invention Center, which also doubles as a kindergarten. His name is Dr. Ho in the parody.

Kendo Robot
Mascot of the Yumeno Invention Center invented by Dr. Yumeno.

Destroyed with the center in episode 37. Known as the Comic Relief Machine in the parody.

Jashinka Empire

Evolved from a race of a reptiles. Their rank and status is determined by the numbers of tails each member has. The more tails, the greater the status.

Emperor Aton (9 tails)
Masked emperor of Jashinka. Planned to use the 'retro gene' to get 10 tails. His name became Bernie Tanaka in the parody, a human disfigured by acid.

General Kar (7 tails) A.k.a. 'God of War'.
Creator of the Evolution Monsters. The parody named him Mel Fujitsu, who was also disfigured by acid like Bernie.

Kira and Geel (1-8; 1 tail)
Megiddo's bodyguards. Tail Soldiers distinguished by their clothing and berets.

Prince Megiddo / Dark Knight / Emperor Megiddo (5 > 4 > 0 tails)
Warrior of the Empire. Loses a tail to Dynared. Ultamitely loses the rest of his tails, and then imprisoned by Zenobia. Became Dark Knight, wielder of the 'Dance of Darkness' technique. In the parody, he was named Nigel, a rock star, and Dark Knight never appeared.
